I was SO excited when I saw there was a Shoney's here! It has been years since I have seen one, hence my excitement. Our server, Emma was absolutely amazing! She was charming, attentive, and so fun! The food was amazing and the atmosphere was wonderful.
My mom and I stopped at this Shoney's in West Virginia. We are from the east coast and hadn't seen a Shoney's in eons. The waitress that took our drink order assumed that we were going to get the buffet so she didn't come back after she brought our drinks. We did get a waitress to take our order. My mom's meal the hamburger steak was delicious she said. I on the other hand did not enjoy my meal. I ordered the club sandwich that said it had roasted turkey on it. I assumed (my fault) that it would be what was on this sandwich but it was not. Instead I got gelatinous (meat) that was white like turkey. Other than that the sandwich would have been good but I didn't eat it. I guess I'm too particular about my luncheon meats. Overall the service tucked. They were nice enough just not very attentive. It will be a long time before my mom suggests Shoney's. Thanks mom. Enjoy or not.
So is it a buffet or a restaurant? Somehow it's both, and it is not explained well. The waitress I had did not have social skills or anything to say at all really. Then I ordered off the menu, and it said the Chicken Parm Sandwich for dinner came with fries for 10.99, but then the waitress came over and said "it didn't come with fries". So I got charged $3.99 for fries. Check was put on my table and waitress never came back for my card, because apparently you had to pay at front but that was never explained by the waitress(again, ZERO SOCIAL SKILLS). Last I get to pay and the cashier lady never even looked at me. Yup never again, this place is not good, people have zero social skills, and the menu lies. DO NOT GO HERE!
